WAE Beyond: A Members’ Club will launch a six-session INTRODUCTION TO WEAVING workshop beginning Thursday evening, February 23, 6 to 8 pm and continuing each Thursday evening until March 29. Students will learn basic weaving techniques on a table loom with the ultimate goal of creating a finished scarf. The classes are co-taught by Margaret Bodell and Cynthia Alberto, artists who are passionate about sharing their love of fabrics and the creative process with individuals of all ability levels.
Weaving is an excellent way for individuals to increase their motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Taking a project from start to finish is another valuable skill gained through this course, one that can be transferred to vocational and other life settings.
The six class workshop is available for $40, all supplies included. Pre-registration required; class size limited to 8 students. Please contact Sherri Zuckerman, WAE Beyond Coordinator at (973) 272-7150 or szuckerman@jsddmetrowest.org.
